A Most Unspirited Sue is a Mary Sue report livejournal intended to preserve the wonder of Hayao Miyazaki's seminal masterpiece, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi, known in the English-speaking world as Spirited Away. More succinctly put, this is an anti-Mary Sue lj meant to keep Sue out of the fandom, out of Chihiro, and, disturbing as it is to have to say this, out of Haku.

I don't take kindly to writers rewriting the characters into bastardizations of humanity (or in the case of Haku, godliness), nor do I take kindly to anyone insisting that their original character or interpretation of a canon character is perfectly viable. This is a canon-based report; if you don't maintain the canon, or if you turn the characters into Sues/Stus, you have no right to complain.

I'm not fighting you, I'm fighting your fanfic. I'm here not to flame, but to snark and feel bitter. Thanks for giving me reasons to do so.

All fics are graded on a scale of six (this being the Godawful Fanfic Rating system), with the basic idea being as follows:

1/6: Uninteresting Sue [can also be Entertaining Sue]
2/6: Annoying Sue
3/6: Irritating Sue
4/6: Angering Sue
5/6: Enraging Sue
6/6: GODAWFUL

While a good portion of the 'grading' is due to personal feelings in regard to the fic, most is a balance of grammar, plot, characterization, etc. And, okay, it depends on how the fic results in me feeling.
